The beginning of a New Year is a great time to take a moment to re-evaluate your life and set your sights on new goals. After the silly season of Christmas and New Years celebrations you may be feeling a little bloated, sluggish and tired.

But never mind! It’s time to start 2017 as your best year yet! The best way to do that is to start with a healthy mind and healthy body. So let’s detox our bodies, clear our minds and dive into a big juicy 2017 filled with love, health, laughter and happiness! 1. Exercise


The best way to stop feeling sluggish and tired is to start moving your body! It’s also going to help burn off the Christmas pudding and many cocktail calories! Remember that while it is okay to take a break from your workout routine and enjoy the finer things in life over the festive season, it’s important to get back on track once January comes around. If you are finding it hard to get motivated then maybe hire a personal trainer to help you or get a workout buddy so you can work hard together. Think lots of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Leafy greens and vegetables like onions, cucumbers, carrots, celery, and radishes are water-rich and packed with nutrients that will give you more energy, strength, and better immunity. Some of these healing nutrients include protein, chlorophyll, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, enzymes and fiber. Enjoy your salads with simple homemade dressings that are made with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil or raw nut/seed oils and fresh citrus juice or vinegars like raw apple cider vinegar.

Water is the best thing you can drink for your body. It will help to flush out all those nasty toxins from the one too many alcoholic drinks you may have consumed over the festive season. 10. Take an Epsom Salt Bath


Once a week, pour yourself a warm bath with 1 cup of epsom salts, 10 drops of lavender essential oil and half a cup of baking soda and light some soy candles. Soak in the tub for a good 20-40 minutes and play some soothing, relaxing music. Close your eyes and let your worries float away. You will instantly feel relaxed.
