Last week the Party Affairs team went to an incredible Sweaty Betty event at the Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney. The function was held in the Chapel area at the Greenwood Hotel. It’s a beautiful function room with sandstone walls, black chandeliers and a lovely bar along the length of the room. The Chapel room also connects to two different courtyards, which is very convenient should you want to book out a courtyard for your party as well.
The Greenwood Hotel can seats, tables, sound systems and can cater your event if you’re holding a sit-down event. In the function room there was a beautiful, long black dining table decorated with gorgeous rose and vine floral arrangements.
Alongside the left hand-side of the chapel was the bar, and we were lucky enough to sample Greenwood’s amazing cocktails handiwork! Guests could choose between a Watermelon Margherita and a Blueberry Bramble. We opted for the bramble which was fruity and refreshing, a very tasty and tangy cocktail that wasn’t too sweet. Drinks are definitely a specialty at the Greenwood Hotel so if you’re holding a corporate event or party function it’s good to know that you’ll have some of the best bartenders in Sydney on hand to mix you up delicious drinks.
After a couple of cheeky midday cocktails we were seated down for a three-course lunch. Entree was a delectable selection of canapés served on a rustic meat-board. Some of the scrumptious little bites were served included; Sydney Rock Oysters, Tuna Tataki with Wasabi Mayo, Sweetcorn and Coriander Fritter with Guacamole and Jalapeño Cream and more. Main was a choice between Chargrilled Salmon with Fennel, Orange, Green Olive and Baby Kale and Crispy Duck Salad with Pomegranate, Mint, Quinoa, Nashi Pear and Radicchio. Both were flavoursome and satisfying, and we’ve heard on the grapevine that their Lamb Shank Pie is another incredible dish!
Our lunch was held on a very chilly winter’s day so we were super excited when we saw that Sticky Toffee Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce, Candied Walnuts and Double Cream was on the menu. It was an unbeatable winter warmer, they couldn’t have ended the day in a yummier way! The sauce was deliciously creamy and balanced out the sweetness of the date cake perfectly and the walnuts added just the right amount of crunch.
If you’re interested in booking in a catered function at the Greenwood Hotel there are a wide variety of different catering options, all of which sound amazing. If you’re hosting more of a cocktail party there is an extensive selection of small and more substantial canapés that you can pick and choose for your party. If you’re interested in holding a sit-down dinner or lunch instead there are different multi-course banquet deals that range in price from $35 – $55 per head. They also have the option of choosing 1m pizzas with various toppings such as Portugese Chicken, Ham and Fig, Veal and Ricotta Meatballs and many more, this could be a cheaper option if you’re hosting a less formal affair for a smaller group. There is also a range of beverage packages so that you can find a drinks package that suits your occasion’s needs and fits within your budget.
If you’re interested in making a booking or finding out more about their events packages you can contact Greenwood’s functions coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or (02) 9964 9477.
